Every job-seeker needs an outstanding resume. Resumes are the most important
document in your job search. Your resume will often be all an employer sees of
you before they decide whether or not you are a quality candidate worthy of an
interview. You will need a resume to apply for part-time jobs, internships, and
co-ops, full-time positions, and graduate school.
Don't wait until the last minute to write your resume. Start working on yours today. The following resources are available to help you get started on your resume. The Career Center reference library also contains several books on resume and cover letter writing with examples related to your major and career goal.
Career Services provides free access to Optimal Resume for USF Sarasota-Manatee students and alumni. With Optimal Resume you can create several resumes and cover letters. You can also create a portfolio which stores samples of your skills and experiences. These can then be customized into an interactive web page for a professional presentation to employers.
Each resume and cover letter needs to be tailored to the job description and the employer.
